STORM DEBRIS STUMP & ROOT BALL REMOVAL
Has your yard been affected by uprooted trees after the storm? Removing massive tree root balls requires the right equipment and experience. That’s why we use an excavator large enough to extract the entire root ball utilizing a specialized stump and root removal attachment. This is superior to standard bucket which is much wider and will tear up much more of the surrounding ground.
Why Our Excavation Method is Better Than Stump Grinding
People usually turn to stump grinding for removal because the vendor does not have an excavator, but it’s not always the best solution, especially for large root systems that are already halfway uprooted from the storm. Here’s why our method stands out:
- Complete Removal vs. Partial: Stump grinding only removes the stump to below the surface level or a little more, leaving the root system intact as well as the lower part of the stump. Over time, those remaining roots can decay, causing sinkholes and leaving your yard uneven. Our excavation method digs out the entire root ball, ensuring no regrowth or future landscape issues.
- Less Mess: Stump grinders tend to create a large mess because all the stump material and dirt is mixed together and left in a heap. For pine trees, this will be particularly acidic to the soil for a long time and get in the way or new landscaping.
- Speed and Efficiency: Grinding stumps can be time-consuming, especially for larger trees, whereas the excavator can remove the entire root ball in less time. Our method, using a mid-size excavator that’s 2 to 4 times the weight of a mini-excavator, gets the job done quickly and allows us to carry to stump to the street. Our machine is just the right size to fit in many yards yet large enough to tackle the big stumps which several tons.
- Don’t Miss FEMA! While FEMA is in the area we can put the stump/root balls on the street right-of-way and they will remove them. Once FEMA leaves it will be the homeowners’ responsibility. Thus, acting now allows us to take advantage of haul-off at no additional cost.
- Surface Protection: Concerned about damage to your driveway or roadways? Our excavator is equipped with rubber pads bolted to the steel tracks, protecting surfaces from damage the steel tracks would create.
